BARIS’S HONEST AND TRANSPARENT, YET EMPATHETIC, COMMUNICATION STYLE HAS ENABLED HIM TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN THE PLANNING INDUSTRY, ENSURING DELIVERY OF SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES.
A go-getter who’s not afraid to tell the story as it is, Baris joined the 4Sight team in October 2019 as a Senior Planning and Policy Consultant based in Auckland.
Baris’s expertise lie in the preparation and lodgement of resource consents, internal and external client liaison, managing key customer relationships, assisting with business planning and participating in mentoring roles within the business. He also enjoys project managing small to large scale projects.
He has had vast experience in preparing offer of services for resource consent applications and coordinating a wide variety of expert input. He predominantly has experience in residential land use and subdivision resource consents but also in obtaining resource consents for café/offices, commercial car yards, childcare centres, and heavy machinery training facility activities.
During his employment at Auckland Council, Baris was well known for his strong people skills and high-level report writing style by Duty Commissioners. He provided advice and directions to graduate planners within the planning team during employment in public and private practice and was able to contribute to the business by preparing winning offer of services.
Originally, Baris got into the planning industry hoping to make a difference in the way we use and manage our resources. But it’s his passion for being able to contribute to a more sustainable future that motivates him to stay in it.
He chooses to spend a lot of his free time outdoors, either at the bike park with his wife and 2 boys or at a BBQ with mates. More recently, Baris has been trying his hand at pottery and really enjoys the time to himself, focusing only on what is in front of him.
