Brenna provides an enthusiastic approach to achieving balanced outcomes for clients, the community and the wider environment.

Brenna joined the 4Sight team in March 2021 as a Planning and Policy Consultant based in our Auckland office.

With a Masters in Planning and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Sociology) from the University of Otago, Brenna has gained a solid overview of planning through her studies and experience working on several planning projects during her previous roles as a Planning intern and in a graduate capacity. She has assisted in delivering infrastructure projects for a range of local and central governments across Aotearoa and has prepared resource consent applications, provided planning inputs for master planning, option assessments, and business cases for a variety of infrastructure projects.

Interestingly, Brenna published an article in the June 2020 issue of Planning Quarterly, entitled "Planning for Sea Level Rise – Adaptation in Small Coastal Communities in Aotearoa New Zealand". This article provided a discussion around her master's thesis, which investigated the challenges and role of community engagement between small coastal communities and local government authorities when facing rising sea levels.

Brenna has decided to follow a career in planning as she has a particular interest in how planning positively contributes to communities' social, physical and cultural wellbeing. She is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for the environment and the communities that reside within it and hopes that through her work with 4Sight, she can play her part in protecting our planet and ensuring future generations thrive in a sustainable environment.

When she's not in the office, Brenna can be found enjoying everything Auckland city has to offer - mostly café hopping and experiencing the many eateries around Auckland. However, not a complete city dweller, when she's not in the big smoke, she will take any opportunity to escape further afield to enjoy the many beautiful beaches, tramping trails, and ski slopes New Zealand boasts.
