Passionate about taking realistic and innovative approaches to sustain the natural environment and ensure humans and nature thrive together.

Based in our Gisborne office, Britney joined 4Sight as an Environmental and Planning Consultant in July 2021, assisting both our Environmental Services and Planning teams.

Britney's previous experience includes spatial mapping, creating management plans, consenting, and creating restoration plans. She has recently finished her Master of Environmental Management at Massey University and completed an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science at the University of Auckland. Her thesis used a case study catchment to understand how people interact with biodiversity and further examined how they value ecosystem services. Her thesis also used the theory of planned behaviour to understand the critical factors that can be used to push the behavioural intention of biodiversity protection into practice.

She is passionate about achieving sustainable and realistic outcomes alongside balancing ecosystem and development outcomes and strongly believes in protecting and sustaining ecosystem services to ensure humans and the environment can continue to thrive together.

In her spare time, she shares some beehives with her dad, which they are growing in number each year alongside bee-friendly plants, to help fight the declining bee population (the honey is also a bonus!). When she's not out on-site or tending to her bees, she loves to hike, explore new trails, the beach and working on her surfing skills.
