Emily makes planning accessible to everyone and loves contributing to solving some of New Zealand's pressing environmental issues through her work.

Emily started with 4Sight in August 2021 as a Planning and Policy Consultant working closing alongside our wider Planning team.

Based in our Christchurch office, she is responsible for processing resource consent applications on behalf of a number of District Councils in Canterbury and Otago and assists with their wider district planning services, including PIM processing and public enquiries. She also helps prepare applications for resource consents and undertakes due diligence for private clients on potential projects.

Her previous work experience has primarily revolved around working with District Councils in Canterbury and Otago, focussing on land-use and subdivision developments. There has always been a strong public engagement focus to her work, and she has been involved in a number of public participation projects and research projects.

Emily is a New Zealand Planning Institute Graduate member and is working towards her Intermediate membership. She completed a Masters of Planning degree in 2020 with 1st class distinction from Lincoln University and prior to this, completed a Bachelor of Arts from Otago University, majoring in Geography and English.

She believes that the natural environment is under increasing pressure from how societies function, and she wants to be involved with creating better long term outcomes for the environment and communities through her work. In her downtime, Emily loves exploring New Zealand, is a keen international traveller, loves going to live music events, hiking, and enjoys good wine.
