WITH OVER 10 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN THE PLANNING INDUSTRY, EMMA PROVIDES SOUND ADVICE AND BALANCED OUTCOMES FOR HER CLIENTS.
Emma started at 4Sight in January 2019, joining the Dunedin team as a Senior Planning and Policy Consultant.
Her previous work experience includes five years at Otago Regional Council in the policy team, where she primarily worked on plan changes to set minimum flows in rivers and consulted with local communities and Iwi. Prior to this, she spent 5 years in Auckland at a planning consultancy where she worked on planning applications for a range of private clients, as well as processing complex urban land use consents on behalf of several councils, including preparation and presentation of expert evidence to councils.
She studied at Otago University, completed a BA in Geography in 2003, then a Master of Regional and Resource Management in 2005, with Distinction. She’s also an intermediate member of the New Zealand Planning Institute.
A mum to three young children, she loves getting out and about with the kids, particularly camping, where the kids can explore and learn about the environment. She’s also on her local kindergarten committee and has enjoyed helping out on kindy trips. For example, some of her more recent kindy excursions have included walking up her local mountain Whanaupaki and venturing to the Orokonui Ecosanctuary. During these trips, Emma loves to see the children starting to learn about sustainability and develop a passion for the environment.
