​George McMahon 

George uses his knowledge of planning law and policies to help deliver more balanced environmental outcomes. 

George joined 4Sight in April 2023 as a Senior Planner in the Planning team, based in the Auckland office. George assists with the day-to-day delivery of planning services, utilising his resource consent and project management expertise.  George will be working across a range of projects and clients at 4Sight including, commercial development, parks and open spaces, and land development.  

George has over seven years’ experience within the planning profession, most recently as a Planner working for a land development consultancy in Auckland, and previously for Auckland Council, where he worked across several departments including Community Facilities and Parks. In his previous roles George has been involved in preparing and lodging resource consent applications, providing preliminary planning advice to clients and assisting with complex projects, ranging from smaller multi-unit land developments and commercial activities, through to a 107-unit development. He has provided planning advice for a number of clients across a broad range of sectors.   

Understanding the importance of planning law and policies, George applies his knowledge to navigate balanced environmental outcomes. He enjoys working closely with clients to meet their expectations and strives to provide a high level of service.  George achieved a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree from the University of Auckland. He has a strong interest in the environment and sustainable use of resources which featured throughout his studies.  

Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, keeping fit and active, and being an uncle to his two goddaughters.
