Ian has a strong scientific background, and specialises in integrating complicated scientific information into major resource consent applications. He has a particular talent doing this in a way that is relevant to the application and yet still understandable to a wider, possibly non-technical, audience.

 

He has 25+ years of industry experience and has led major consent acquisition projects for several different sectors over the years. Past examples of his work include managing the designation of the (then) Auckland City road network and managing the processing of resource consent applications for several major motorway projects.

 

Ian spent over 15 years working for the (then) Auckland Regional Council (ARC) before making the move into consulting. He was involved in a wide range of resource management projects during his time at the council. One example he's particularly proud of saw him turning the urban stormwater management programme around and transforming it into the leading-edge programme it is today.

 

Certainly no wallflower, Ian enjoys spending his spare time putting his brilliant sense of humour to use by moonlighting as a local quiz master.
