intermediate - Senior ecology consultant

Do you have: 
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Ecologist working across various disciplines 

  • Strong New Zealand Ecology knowledge 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and CEnVP E or actively working towards it 

  • Proven consultancy experience 

  • Experience in ecological effects assessment, management, and restoration 

  • A drive to support the continued growth and development of an industry-leading ecological services team, to mentor junior staff and to be supported and mentored by a well-respected team of Principal-level consultants  

We have a variety of intermediate and senior full-time roles available including fixed term parental leave cover (commencing in September) and permanent positions. We have offices across New Zealand, however, our preferred locations for these positions are Wellington, Hamilton, Auckland, and Tauranga.

Our Ecology team is growing, and we are seeking Ecologists who want to work across a range of New Zealand ecosystems and habitats delivering sustainable outcomes for clients and the environment alike.  If you’re interested in the type of project work we have done in the past, you can check out some of our Ecology Proof Points on our website for more information.

We are seeking driven Ecologists who consider themselves to be pragmatic, motivated, and dynamic and who have what it takes to deliver a range of projects from conception to completion.  A passion for Ecology is a must and a sound knowledge of ecological management with relevant field experience across a range of ecosystems, habitats and taxa is essential.  Experience in either freshwater or terrestrial ecology in the New Zealand environment is vital.  We also invite candidates that have proven experience in herpetofauna management.

Our expectation is that the successful candidate will be experienced in scientific fieldwork, technical reporting, and project management. They will be self-motivated and enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of our Ecology Team. Depending on their level of experience, the candidate may also have client relationship management skills and a well-developed professional network.

Our Ecology team is passionate about New Zealand’s wildlife and delivering balanced outcomes for the environment and our clients. Their sound knowledge of ecological management is not just the result of years of experience, but they live and breathe ecology, it makes them tick!  We’re on the lookout for someone similar who will complement our current team.
