Joanna has more than 7 years’ experience working as a Planner in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Her experience includes policy development, spatial planning, stakeholder engagement, resource consents, planning risk assessment, due diligence reporting and planning compliance.
Joanna has recently worked on a number of growth scenario planning projects for local authorities; including significant contributions to the development of a draft spatial plan for the Wellington region.
Joanna has extensive stakeholder engagement and community consultation experience, and enjoys working closely with tangata whenua, elected representatives, communities, government agencies, council staff and stakeholders to develop and facilitate positive project outcomes.
Her consenting experience encompasses both Council processing and resource consent applications. Joanna has obtained consent for a range of projects including large scale photovoltaic power stations (solar farms), high-voltage cable routes, multi-unit residential subdivision and housing developments.
Majoring in both Environmental and Development Studies, Joanna has an academic grounding in environmental resource management, climate change, sustainable development, Māori resource management, environmental economics, environmental law and ecology.
Prior to joining 4Sight in 2018, Joanna worked for Cuttriss Consulting and Lightsource Renewable Energy.
