Mark joined 4Sight in August 2014 after running his own successful consulting practice for 12 years. He now gives scientific and resource advice to our private sector and local government clients and is a specialist in marine and estuarine investigations.

 

In addition to being responsible for running our Northland office, Mark oversees the marine biological, habitat and water quality surveys carried out for our clients. He has extensive experience working in the port and marine industries, and his wider experience includes assessments of discharges of process water, wastewater and stormwater on the marine environment.  He also has a wide knowledge and a long record of contract work in relation to the effects of water abstractions on small stream ecosystems. 

 

With more than 33 years of experience, Mark is one of our most experienced Ecologists. His work often requires analysis of regional water and soil plans, the NZ Coastal Policy Statement, National Environmental Standards and regional coastal plans. He has also been an expert witness before Judicial Committees and the Environment Court on many project, and is frequently involved in expert caucusing, mediation and consultation with iwi and resource users as part of his work under the RMA.
