Science and puns are Megha’s superpowers!
Megha (pronounced May – Ghaa, meaning monsoon clouds in Hindi) joined the team as an Ecologist in March 2022 after Ryder Environmental became part of 4Sight Consulting.
Often found wading in rivers collecting invertebrates or periphyton, and conducting fish surveys to quantify the health of our freshwater ecosystems, Megha enjoys large data analysis using R and writing scientific reports for clients. When she's not in the field, Megha can be found in the lab, sorting invertebrate samples measuring chlorophyll a from periphyton samples and supporting the lab team.
She strongly cares about learning and working towards the sustainable management of our freshwater resources - Whakawhanauangata - and is also an outreach ambassador, actively conducting freshwater ecology workshops for New Zealand school students in collaboration with the University of Otago.
Outside of work, Megha's evenings and weekends are filled with friends and food, hikes and bikes, and boogieboarding and bouldering.
