Morgan Smith

MORGAN IS DRIVEN, WITH A STRONG DEVOTION TO PLANNING AND ITS FUTURE DEVELOPMENT.

Joining the 4Sight team in April 2019, Morgan is a Planning and Policy Consultant based in Dunedin, whose breadth of knowledge and experience makes her a strong addition to the 4Sight Planning team.

After completing her studies at the University of Otago, Morgan worked in local government, where she was the sole dedicated planner for the day-to-day resource management and planning operations at Clutha District Council. This experience has laid the foundation for her robust local government knowledge of consenting, compliance, and policy support.

In her time at 4Sight, Morgan has provided resource consent support to various Council's in the lower South Island, demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of various district and regional plans. Morgan also supports multiple clients with their development projects, from providing general planning support, preparing submissions on policy documents, and completing due diligence assessments to undertaking stakeholder engagement and the preparation of resource consent applications.

You can usually find Morgan travelling around the countryside in her spare time, making the most of what our backyard has to offer. As a passionate supporter of rural New Zealand, Morgan is actively involved with the New Zealand Young Farmers at both a local and regional level. She is also an advocate for the planning disciplines' future as the Dunedin Emerging Planner Representative and was involved in the core working group that developed the institute's recent EP Strategic and Action Plans.
