FROM HIS EXTENSIVE STUDIES IN ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY, OLIVER enthusiastically PUTS LEGISLATIVE CHANGES INTO PRACTICE FOR BETTER ENVIRONMENTAL OUTCOMES
Oliver joined 4Sight in July 2022 as a Graduate Environmental Scientist in the Environmental Services team, based in the Christchurch office. His role involves soil and groundwater sampling and working on a range of environmental compliance and management projects, along with aiding more senior members of the Environmental Services team in their project reporting.
Oliver is highly knowledgeable in his area of work having graduated from the University of Waikato in 2021 with a BSc in Environmental Science. Following his degree, Oliver completed a semester of postgraduate study at the University of Canterbury, where he studied papers with a focus on contaminated land, water quality and management.
After studying, Oliver worked in the laboratory at Isaac Construction Ltd, where he provided on site building foundation and asphalt testing to a range of clients. He was also responsible for monitoring groundwater levels and taking groundwater and soil samples.
Being able to undertake investigations on site in our amazing country, and then use the data collected to write a report, balancing a mix of being in the field and in the office, is what Oliver enjoys the most about his work. Having a keen interest in environmental policy, Oliver enjoys responding to the latest changes and putting this into practice to better protect the environment.
When not in the field or in the office, Oliver loves hunting for a good book in second hand bookshops, as well as cycling and getting out on his bike to make the most of Christchurch’s great cycleways. He’s also an avid coffee drinker and loves experimenting with different beans and brewing methods.
