TONY THINKS ON HIS FEET AND IS ALWAYS READY WITH A PRACTICAL SOLUTION AND EDUCATED RESOLUTION

Tony garners his environmental experience and knowledge from both a national and international level; having worked in Saudi Arabia, Australia and throughout New Zealand. His field experience is wide ranging and includes terrestrial biodiversity surveys in forest and wetland communities, lizard translocation and habitat construction, fish and macroinvertebrate surveys, providing ecological advice for stream diversions and culvert installations, and large-scale restoration and rehabilitation.

Tony’s versatility allows him to manage large projects, as demonstrated in his recent experience leading the onsite ecological activities for the road of national significance, the Transmission Gully Motorway. He is well versed in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders including Iwi and local mana whenua, DoC, MPI, and local government.

Tony takes his holistic ecology approach into his personal life, where he enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits including diving and exploring Auckland’s rocky reefs, catching a few snappers on the kayak, or botanising through the Waitakere’s in search of a rare specimen.

As a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP), Tony’s high professional standards and environmental ethics are recognised by the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand, and he holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Environmental Science from the University of Canterbury.
