INFORMED PERSPECTIVES AND FORESIGHT ARE KEY TO HOW MELISSA ENGAGES WITH HER CLIENTS
Melissa is a Senior Planning and Policy Consultant with over 13 years’ experience in resource management. Her experience as a Planner includes working for both district and regional councils and in the private consultancy sector in both the North Island and the South Island of New Zealand. She joins the 4Sight team having assisted Southwark Council in the United Kingdom and Dunedin City Council in New Zealand in successfully defending Council’s decisions in the Environment Court.
As a Senior Planner she will be assisting our development clients with preparing and lodging resource consent applications, as well as assisting District and Regional Council’s with their consent processing requirements. Her broad experience in resource management means she is well skilled at identifying and addressing the key obstacles/risks and solutions for a project and/or development to succeed and in making an application stand out for a smoother path for approval.
Her background has included assisting telecommunications companies, both in New Zealand and within the United Kingdom, with the roll-out of 2G and 3G mobile networks. Her experience in coordinating multiple experts in order to identify optimum sites, acquire sites and to secure sites throughout the consent process has made her a key player in achieving this.
She enjoys the process and challenges that go with the consent process and has an inherent knowledge of ‘both sides of the fence’ which allows her to navigate the process well for her clients. She carries out the dual role of assisting clients and consolidating relationships with Council’s and third parties well which consolidates good working relationships and continued work with clients.
Off duty, Melissa is a keen netball player currently in training for the Masters Games 2020 and in her spare time, she enjoys property development speculation.
