WHETHER IT’S SCOPING CONSENT REQUIREMENTS OR OBTAINING RESOURCE CONSENTS - GAEL IS AN EXPERT
Gael McKitterick has over 30 years’ experience in planning and resource management, both within councils and planning consultancies. Her experience includes 21 years with Burton Planning Consultants where she worked prior to starting at 4Sight in October 2018.
A Principal Planning Consultant at 4Sight, she has an extensive working knowledge of district plans and plan change preparation, scoping and obtaining resource consents on a wide range of projects, designation and outline plans, hearing reports, and meetings and negotiations with submitters/appellants.
Gael has an array of project and policy work under her belt from council community centres and libraries to large infrastructure and commercial projects. The projects she has worked on range from redeveloping Devonport Library, where she dealt with issues relating to existing use rights, heritage buildings, urban design, traffic and protected trees within a sensitive environment to oil industry related projects where she has scoped and prepared resource consents for the upgrade of bulk storage terminals and existing petroleum product pipelines, and has also provided planning advice on terminal and pipelines consenting issues throughout New Zealand.
Recent projects also include planning advice for the development of a modern multi-purpose Events Centre for Westlake Girls High, including the preparation of the associated Outline Plan of Works and changes to existing designations. As part of the preparation of the Auckland Unitary Plan, she provided planning assistance to Auckland Council in relation to the development of planning provisions for a former quarry and the adjoining lake side residential land. Gael also works with Wiri Oil Services Terminal in their engagement with neighbouring businesses, including maintaining and updating the associated data base, liaison with neighbours, and organising presentations for neighbouring businesses at the terminal.
