Do you have: 
  • A planning degree recognised by the New Zealand Planning Institute

  • 18 months + planning experience in New Zealand in either Council or Consultancy

  • Excellent report writing skills

  • Range of consenting experience

  • Has or is eligible for NZPI membership

  • Knowledge and experience of applying the Resource Management Act 1991 to development and infrastructure.

  • A good working knowledge of District and Regional planning and consenting.

  • An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We’re looking for someone who can manage simple to medium complexity projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a mixture of projects including, policy development, undertaking planning due diligence, assisting local councils with processing resource consents and acquiring resource consents for a range of development projects.

While we expect that you will still be developing and consolidating your technical skills, you will need to consistently apply foundational knowledge proficiently and with minimal supervision and input. We expect that your verbal and written communication skills will be second to none, and you will have a good understanding of the applicable legislative frameworks, experience in processing or preparing a range of consent application types and have a desire to build on this experience and develop new skills.

In addition, you will have the ability to meet time and financial budgets on project tasks with limited supervision, while at the same time developing more complex project management skills. You will be adept at problem solving and in leading tasks and small groups, as well as being able to build and maintain great relationships with external clients and your colleagues. You will also be comfortable representing 4Sight through client contact and industry events.

Most importantly, you’ll bring a great attitude with you, and will like to have a laugh because although we take our commitment to the business and the environment seriously, we still like to have a lot of fun along the way.
