Do you have: 
  • A planning degree recognised by the New Zealand Planning Institute

  • 3+ years resource consent / planning experience in New Zealand

  • Knowledge and experience applying the Resource Management Act to land use, development and natural resources

  • A good working knowledge of district and regional planning and consenting

  • Experience in Council, stakeholder, iwi, and community liaison and engagement

  • An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

4Sight is expanding up and down the country, and we’re looking for an additional Intermediate level Planning and Policy Consultant to join our thriving Tauranga office.

We’re particularly keen to hear from you if you’re client-focused, detail-oriented, and highly motivated. Your communication skills will be excellent, and your aptitude for building and maintaining great relationships with clients will be second to none. You will have a keen interest in RMA planning and, most importantly, have a willingness to work collaboratively to deliver outstanding projects. The right candidate will be someone who is adaptable, solutions-focused and can use initiative to get stuck into a variety of work with a range of clients. You’ll also bring a great attitude with you and enjoy having a laugh because although we take our commitment to the business and the environment seriously, we still like to have a lot of fun along the way.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in a mixture of projects, including policy development, undertaking planning due diligence, assisting local councils with processing resource consents and acquiring resource consents for a range of projects. Demonstrated experience in local government and private sector development projects is definitely preferred. Previous consultancy experience is also preferred, but it’s not essential.
