4Sight Consulting assisted Pukehiki Church Trust to secure resource consent to enable conservation works to go ahead on the church - a Category 2 Historic Place on the Otago Peninsula.

Guided by the condition assessment and conservation plan prepared by Salmond Reed Architects, 4Sight worked with the Trust to secure resource consent for a significant scope of works to address severe building decay and facilitate the active future use of the building.

Extensive consultation was undertaken with Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, and the outcome was to restore critical architectural details, which in turn secured their affected party approval.

Since obtaining ownership of the building in 1994, the Pukehiki Church Trust has worked tirelessly on conserving this 154-year-old building, and the recently approved conservation works will ensure it remains an asset to the community for many years to come.
