Ryan is passionate about people, developing mana whenua relationships and contributing towards the decarbonisation of Aotearoa

Ryan joined 4Sight in August 2022 as a Principal Environmental Consultant in the Environmental Services team, based in our Tauranga office.

Ryan will be focused on developing our service offering in the renewable energy sector and will provide strategic project delivery across a wide range of renewable energy projects.

Ryan previously worked for Manawa Energy as Head of Environment, and has extensive experience in environmental advisory and resource management in the renewable electricity generation industry, with over 17 years at Manawa Energy (previously Trustpower Limited). Ryan also has experience of fostering relationships with external stakeholders and mana whenua, and supporting a generation asset enhancement and growth programme.

Ryan was involved in delivering new development resource consents for hydro and wind projects while at Manawa Energy and one wind farm approval in Australia.

While it has been professionally rewarding to support the delivery of such projects it is the interaction with mana whenua, communities and people that Ryan sees as being the most fulfilling and the area where the greatest opportunity to live our values exists.

Having the opportunity to work in an industry that has such a positive impact on Aotearoa and being able to visit so many special places drives Ryan to lead work in this area.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys going for surfs, and spending time with his family with two teenage children, and friends. He’s involved in coaching his sons’ basketball team and has recently taken up flag football (like touch rugby but American Football format), finally making it into a Masters age group sports team!
