Senior/Intermediate
Ecologist

4Sight is looking for Senior/Intermediate Ecologist that believes in better.

Join:
  • A business where people, clients and the environment come first

  • A highly engaged and respected team who love working together

  • A business that prides itself on diversity and flexibility

What we're looking for:
  • Consultancy experience highly desirable

  • Terrestrial Ecology experience in New Zealand is essential, and Freshwater Ecology experience is desirable.

  • Experience in ecological effects assessment, management and restoration

  • CEnvP Ecology specialist certification (or equivalent) or actively working towards it

Our Ecology team is growing – and fast! We provide specialist advice and laboratory services in freshwater, marine and terrestrial ecology, and water quality for clients throughout New Zealand, but we’re looking to build our expertise even further. We currently have an opportunity available for an Intermediate/Senior level Ecologist to join our experienced and talented Ecology team.

Working alongside our experienced Ecologist in Gisborne, as the successful candidate, you will be assisting us in maintaining and growing 4Sight’s vision for the Ecology team and our market reach, by providing exceptional client and project management services to our growing client base. This could involve scoping projects and associated costs, developing business and client relationships, undertaking fieldwork, collecting samples, analysis of data, and detailed report writing.

To complement the experience we already have in 4Sight, you will be an energetic and talented individual who knows what it takes to be successful in a consulting environment. You will be able to competently deal with dynamic clients, regulatory authorities, iwi/hapū, local community members and a wide range of experts in your specialist area in order to deliver sustainable outcomes for a variety of projects for our public and private clients.

You will need to be able to work autonomously with limited direction and supervision, sometimes working in remote locations.  You will also be comfortable contributing to the wider Ecology team and working with them collaboratively on projects in other locations and regions.  You will have a passion for New Zealand’s wildlife and a sound knowledge of ecological management with relevant field experience across a range of ecosystems, habitats and taxa.

The ideal environment starts with yours, so come and join a consultancy that is dynamic, flexible and expanding, and where our values drive everything we do.

If this sounds like the ideal environment for you, apply here!
