senior/principal planning & policy consultant

Do you have: 
  • A degree in planning and/or resource management

  • Full NZPI membership or working your way towards this

  • 7+ years of planning experience in New Zealand 

  • Experience in RMA policy development at local or central government level (both would definitely be an advantage)

  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders such as iwi, communities, corporates, government agencies, technical experts, and other planners

  • Sound project management skills and a drive to deliver client’s needs

  • An aptitude for building and maintaining great relationships with clients and colleagues 

  • A resilient and adaptable attitude; a can-do person with a confident communication style 

  • A drive and passion to achieve outstanding results

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior to Principal Policy and Planning Consultant based in our Wellington office.

We have one of New Zealand’s largest teams of RMA planning professionals, and we are looking for a Policy Planner with a desire to achieve better environmental and community outcomes.  We need a person with strong policy development skills and experience who can help support and drive our continued growth in this field for central and local government clients. Outside the roles key focus on policy, you will have the opportunity to be involved in other planning projects throughout New Zealand. This includes due diligence, resource consent processing, or acquiring resource consents for a range of development projects. 

The ideal candidate will be client-focused, have a strong interest in RMA planning, and most importantly, a desire to work collaboratively with our local and national teams to achieve outstanding results.
