THEO STRIVES TO BENEFIT COMMUNITIES AND THE ENVIRONMENT THROUGH BETTER PLANNING DECISIONS, WITH A MINDSET OF PROMOTING INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY

Theo joined 4Sight in July 2022 as a Planning Consultant, based in our Christchurch office. His role is focused on processing consents on behalf of Councils.

Theo is truly passionate about being able to make a difference and finding the best outcome for the environment and communities. With this outlook, he decided to embark on a career in Planning, changing from his previous work in IT. Theo completed a degree in Environmental Management with a minor in Planning and also Planning & Resource Management.

Starting his career as a Planner, Theo worked in the construction industry, predominantly with or on behalf of property developers. He gained skills and experience putting his theoretical learnings into practise, including for environmental projects.

Theo measures his achievements through the value he can bring to a project, for the benefit of a community, rohe or takiwa. He is motivated by the opportunity to form positive outcomes and educate where possible, through his work across the regions, project types and industries.

Outside of work, Theo is actively involved in community projects, including urban placemaking for Christchurch, community planting and river clean up programmes and he has helped a Dairy farmer to remediate his riparian farm boundaries. He loves the mountains and rock climbing (indoors and out), as he appreciates the mindfulness it requires and also the opportunity to come face to face with New Zealand’s unique flora and fauna in the sub alpine and alpine environments.
